"Adventure"...Defined by dictionary(dot)com as "an exciting or very unusual experience...participation in exciting undertakings or enterprises...action of uncertain outcome...chance; fortune; luck".

Let's try our own "simracing adventure". Something different than anything we've done at L&L before.

In RL F1, the drivers often don't get to choose their cars. The fastest drivers aren't always in the best cars...the slower drivers aren't always in the slower cars. In real-life F1 every season, everyone has to make do with a sub-par car/team, or try to rise to the exceptional quality and speed of their car/team, or battle in a middle of the pack car and situation. In all these cases, to optimize their results in their individual situations, even if that doesn't mean winning the championship, or even winning a single race.

That is what will be a bit different in this L&L series. Each of us, regardless what car and team fate or luck or whatever deals us, we will have to buckle down and do our best with what we've been given. Each of us will be co-authors of this collective story, this shared "adventure"...to see how this story turns out.

Also different in this series will be car damages. Racing and yet still getting good points-results while trying to avoid damages...and stopping for repairs and still trying to get back on track to salvage as many precious points as possible should you get damaged.

One more different factor in this series will be the inclusion of team racing and a team points championship. And again, just like car choice, drivers often don't get to choose teammates, and so they won't in this series either.

And of course, to complete the simulation effect, we'll be racing in random weather. Not random failures or pit errors, though...individual drivers' hardware and connection issues (etc.), plus AMS2's occasional, infamous in-game glitches will stand in for those.

This real-life F1 season in which we will be trying to create our own unique history, in simracing form, will be with the 3 types of cars AMS2 has provided to replicate the 1983 season...the Formula Retro Gen3 cars.

Car/team assignments will be Tuesday the 3rd of January. It will be conducted live in the "Simracing in-game" voice channel at 9:30pm ET-US, followed immediately by an optional preseason test session for driver-car-team orientation.

The next Tuesday, Jan 10, we will have a preseason, non-points "Race of Champions" at Brands Hatch, as they did in the real 1983 F1 season. The season will commence the next Tuesday with the 1st points-race on Jan 17th.

The season will be 7 races long, using the tracks AMS2 gives us from the real 1983 F1 season.
